This session is the final step before the selection of new teachers. The interviews were held over the period Wednesday, 4th August to Friday, 6thAugust, 2021. Ms. Stacy Gumbs, Personnel Officer within the Ministry of Education, outlined the selection process of prospectiveteachers. She explained that “applications were reviewed and only those persons who were suitably qualified in areas where there are likely to be vacancies, were invited to the pre-service training and the interviews.” Ms. Gumbs noted, “The interview concluded the penultimatephase of the recruitment process for prospective teachers. Last Friday morning we were saddened to hear news of the passing of Robert Stanley Kelly, a faithful and devoted son of St. Kitts. Robert was born in Basseterre and began his professional career as a teacher at Basseterre Junior High School. 23 July, 2021, Bridgetown, Barbados – The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in collaboration with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and Global Affairs Canada, recently hosted a webinar aimed at sensitizing practitioners in the Caribbean on gender mainstreaming methodologies and good practices that can be used to strengthen the region’s response to the effects of climate change on agri-food systems.
